A non-profit’s dream come true is a phone call from a local company that says they’ve silently been raising money to donate to your organization because they love the work you do to help others. When it happens, you feel overwhelmed with gratitude. That is exactly how our community partnership with Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC) began this spring.
PTSMC is a privately owned physical therapy center in Avon, Connecticut who is deeply committed to nurturing people in need of care through treatment, education and empowerment.
When someone is injured, in pain or has limited movement, they not only help people regain their independence and comfort, they provide them with holistic support to stay well including nutritional and exercise recommendations. They truly are an extension of their client’s medical team.
Their mission is to improve people’s lives through unmatched experiences, clinical excellence, and lifelong relationships. Travis Lytle, Managing Partner, adds, “that extends to our community as well. We want to give back to those in need and your organization does just that in the same holistic way. We are excited to partner with Healing Meals.”
Starting in January, they started dress down Friday in their office, where their team members were able to wear jeans in exchange for a $5 donation. It became so popular that their clients got involved and made donations as well. In April, Travis and Assistant Director Emily Hansen presented us with a check for $1,500, which provide organic meals for 45 people for 3 weeks!!
Dress down day will continue throughout the summer and they will also be hosting a Nourishing Our Neighbors fundraising dinner party next week. Stay tuned for another event this fall!
As a young organization, we’re very excited to be able to support more clients through caring partnerships like the one we have with PTSMC. They are beautifully aligned with our holistic approach to nurture, educate and empower clients and we look forward to a long, fun relationship with them serving the community for years to come.
