Whole Foods Market partners with Healing Meals Community Project to create meals that give back

For each pound sold of select foods,

Whole Foods Market will donate $1 to the campaign

Whole Foods Market announced it will partner with the Healing Meals Community Project to help nourish those in need in the local community through the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide healthy, 100 percent organic meals to members of the community and their families.

Throughout 2019, Whole Foods Market will donate $1 for every pound of select foods sold in the prepared foods department inspired by Healing Meals Community Project recipes, including Greek Chicken, Garlic Kale Salad, Harvest Wild Rice Salad, Mexican Slaw, and Broccoli & Caramelized Onions.

“We are thrilled to team up with the Healing Meals Community Project and look forward to uniting in our mission to nourish those in need,” said JP Scioville, Marketing Team Lead of Community Engagement. “This campaign makes it simple for our fans and customers to get involved by simply picking up and enjoying some of the delicious foods we’ve created for this partnership. We look forward to seeing the impact we can make in the local community over this next year and invite everyone to come out and support this great cause.”

Healing Meals Community Project serves healthy, 100 percent organic meals to clients and their families who are struggling with a health crisis. These meals are provided free of charge and delivered to the client’s doorstep by volunteer Delivery Angels. All the meals are prepared by youth volunteers, who are given the opportunity to learn how to cook and eat healthy foods, as well as understand the power of their food choices to build healthier communities and a healthier environment.

“We are extremely grateful for Whole Foods Markets’ support of Healing Meals Community Project,” said Founder and CEO Sarah Leathers. “The missions of the two organizations perfectly align and we are excited that individuals can now purchase some of our wholesome meals at Whole Foods Market. The program has a ripple effect that goes well beyond the food and our clients tell us they feel that they are part of a larger caring society knowing that people were there for them in their time of need and all of us at Healing Meals are thrilled that Whole Foods Market is a part of our community.”

Participating locations are located at 50 Raymond Road, West Hartford, CT 06107; 340 North Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06117; 55 Welles Street, Glastonbury CT 06033.
