Lauren Miller, MPA
Lauren Miller is passionate and knowledgeable about people, plants, and the arts. She brings a unique set of skills and a sunny disposition to the Healing Meals team. As a nonprofit professional she has spent several years working in the cultural sector, managing critical resources that supported a wide variety of arts and humanities activities. She has been a grant maker, grant seeker, program evaluator, and advocate for the artists and scholars who help us understand the human experience through cultural expression. As Grant Writer, she tells the stories of wellness and compassion that help funders understand how Healing Meals provides nutrition for the body and nourishment for the spirit. Using data and feedback from Healing Meals programs, she will chronicle the journeys document the outcomes that support further investment in our programs.
Lauren studied Spanish and German during her college years and later earned a Master of Public Administration from UConn’s Department of Public Policy. She was privileged to get to know the dedicated people who run many of Connecticut’s arts organizations, museums, and libraries during her tenure at the Greater Hartford Arts Council and the Connecticut Humanities Council. She continues to support the humanities and her hometown as a Trustee of the Simsbury Public Library. She and her husband, Rich live in Simsbury, where they enjoy gardening, biking, and hiking.
