Who qualifies for the Healing Meals Program and where do you deliver meals?

Healing Meals prepares and delivers organic meals for individuals and families dealing with a health crisis. Uniquely, all of our meals are prepared by youth volunteers working alongside our Adult Mentors and Executive Chef.

Our Healing Meals Program serves those:
  • Living in the Central Connecticut area
  • In treatment for cancer or another acute health challenge, including mental health
  • Not receiving hospice care
  • Not in transitional housing

How long can I receive the service?

Our Client & Delivery Manager and you will decide when will be the most supportive time for you to receive the meal service depending on your situation. Because we are trying to support our clients making healthy change in their diets, we provide a minimum of 4 weeks of service. If desired, clients may receive meals for up to 12 weeks.

How and when do I get my food?

One of our volunteer delivery angels will be delivering your prepared meals to your door. If no one will be home at that time, please leave a cooler with ice out or the name of a neighbor we can drop the food off with. We do not want the food to spoil and therefore this information is very important.

What if I have special dietary needs?

We deal with a wide range of dietary needs including but not limited to: no wheat, no gluten, no dairy, no poultry/seafood, and no soy. We can accommodate many common dietary restrictions. When you talk with our Client and Delivery Manager, we will gather this information so we can ensure that the food you receive will be most supportive of your healing. If your appetite or needs change, just let us know, and we will adjust your meals accordingly.
