Healing Meals Community Project (HMCP), founded in 2016, is building a community of health with kindness and nutritious food. Our mission is to provide nourishing, organic meals to people facing a health crisis, while fostering compassion and empowering youth and adult volunteers to experience the value of service to others. “Healing Meals nourishes with love” is our motto, reflecting the combination of personal connections and nourishing food in everything we do, from our Healthy Meals program, youth development program, client and community education, gardening program, prenatal program and more. When a body is in crisis, data shows that to help heal, it needs nutrient rich food and connections with people that care. These connections are fostered every week when our volunteers deliver meals with a hand-written note that our youth volunteers write for them. Food and love are the ingredients that make Healing Meals.
