Adult Volunteer Interview: Karin Sebolt

Volunteer Manager, Chrissy Barnard sat down with Karin Sebolt one of our dynamo Adult Volunteers, to learn more about her and thank her for her service at Healing Meals. Here’s what she shared:

Can you tell us why you joined Healing Meals and what you have enjoyed most in the 175 hours you have volunteered?

I first volunteered because I wanted to find a way that I could give back but what I found was real friendships which I truly enjoy. Most importantly, the experience has taught me to be grateful for my family’s health. I feel humbled and blessed.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am the mother of 20-year-old twins and work as a Territory Manager in the healthcare industry. Whenever the weather and time allow I can be found fly fishing with family and friends.

What advice would you give to anyone considering volunteering for Healing Meals?

There are few circumstances in life that are truly a win-win and this is one of them. You are there to give but you get back so much more. Every time I am in the kitchen I feel like it’s a mini therapy session where everyone is sharing what’s going on in their lives and supporting each other. It’s an opportunity to turn off the chaotic world and engage with others.
